Dear Friends,
One-Time Children Annual Gathering

On the 26th December we had a celebration for children (and families) who I have at one time or another looked after. We do this every year. Typically, not many come, so I was very encouraged simply by everyone who was there. We were about 7 adults and 9 children. Others came before or after the main gathering. Were all my one-time children and spouses and children to come … we would have over 100 people. That is, 50 or so grandchildren …
MUM
My mother is currently in a hospital in Portsmouth. She was taken to a nursing home in Fareham, but due to a chest infection needed more intensive care. Prayers for her are valued.
Podcasts outlining some of my work
For anyone interested, here are some podcasts produced using AI, articulating four of the articles I have written in the last few years. The podcast style is interesting and engaging. It makes the topics come a live! Broadly, three of the podcasts are about envy / witchcraft in Africa. Just click on the link, listen in, be intrigued!

Wedding
I recently attended a wedding, at a church called Church of Christ in Africa. This was about 12 miles from home. On my way there, I visited one of my children, now around 40 years old, recovering from a broken leg. Give thanks for ongoing healing. It was a privilege to be a part of what went on at this wedding event.

Visit to Children
On 12th January, I have just returned from another round-trip, visiting three of my ex-children. This has included about 90km of cycling to keep the cost down. It’s always and honour and privilege to witness a small part of children’s continuing to grow and mature, and to be able to encourage them. Here’s a sunrise video as I crossed a part of Lake Victoria on a ferry this morning: https://youtu.be/FytzI_0bmQ0
Yours,
Jim
